Foundational Buenos Aires - City Tours in Buenos Aires
Sur' (South of the Cathedral), which nucleated the primitive village's foundational buildings and temples, as well as the founding families' residences, in the period that spans from the city's foundation to the yellow fever epidemics and the immigration flood. These two transcendental developments created an urgent need to move the Main Square (now Plaza de Mayo) to the north -to the 'Catedral al Norte' area- (North of the Cathedral), thus expanding the city. Along our journey, we'll run across three centuries of history, as we learn about that period's customs and traditions, which gave birth to our popular culture. Finally, we'll pay a visit to San Telmo, where we'll have the chance to see its old tenement houses and art galleries, a symbol of our cultural heritage's syncretism.

Buenos Aires and the Aristocratic Dream Itineraries
This tour takes us back in time to a period of great national opulence when both the state and the aristocracy enjoyed a splendorous prosperity and tried to assert their economical power by erecting sumptuous and elegant buildings and palaces in Buenos Aires' most exclusive districts. Some of the tour's highlights are the parks and public monuments built on occasion of the Centenary of the May Revolution, like the world-famous Colón Theatre and the National Congress, as well as the luxurious private mansions and the traditional Recoleta Cemetery that together help create the city's distinctive Paris-like atmosphere.

Literary Buenos Aires
Some people think it may have something to do with the water; others prefer to ascribe it to the mix of cultures and traditions which took place in our country; some would rather believe it's a consequence of the city's cultural variety and open-mindedness. Nevertheless, we can say that few cities in the world can feel as proud for their writers as Buenos Aires: Oliverio Girondo, Julio Cortázar and Jorge Luis Borges, to name just a trio that has had a profound impact on 20th century literature.

Our visitors will have a chance to embark on a fascinating journey, following the development of Argentine literature: from the beginnings, with the liberal intellectual élites, to gauchesco literature, and finally to the 20th century and modern days. For those of you specifically interested in Borges, we'll take you to the Jorge Luis Borges Centre, and to the house where he was born (Museo Natal), where you'll get the chance to admire manuscripts, personal belongings and the like; after that, we'll take you for a walk across the impressive San Martín Square, which Borges dearly loved. Finally, we'll discuss his work with an expert over a cup of coffee.
