Mendoza - Tommaso Family Winery & Zuccardi´s Winery
Breakfast at the Hotel. At 9 o´clock, we begin the tour towards OLD DI TOMMASO FAMILY WINERY, located in Russell, Maipu. This winery, has its origins in the Friuli region,Italy and has profited from its experience of past generations to obtain internationally great level awarded wines. We will carry out a brief visit to the vineyards belonging to this old winery and, in its cellar, an expert on wine tasting will develop a one-hour-lasting course on wine tasting, including 5 different wines and then, we will be presented with three bottles of varietal wines.
We will continue the tour visiting an important winery, located 30 minutes from town: FAMILIA ZUCCARDI´S WINERY. We will learn about the SANTA JULIA wines, inside a landscape framed by the Andes Range, a route surrounded by vineyards, olives and neverending tree lines, combining the tour through the vineyards with the mystic world of the wine.
The visitor is introduced to the birth, making and tasting of wine, accompanied by specialists that would like the visitors to relax and get to know their exclusive wine named “Línea Q. Casa del visitante” ('Q' LINE. Visitor´s Home). We will go into the tourism cellar to continue inside the winery and will finish this visit with wine tasting.
At midday, we will walk through the ``parrales´´(vineyards) as part of “enoturism”. There, we will have a typical lunch: bruschetas, ``empanadas´´ (meat pies), asado (Argentinean barbecue) with salads and 3 different types of wines. We will be presented with a bottle of a varietal wine. We will come back to the hotel at 4 pm. Rest of the day off.

Mendoza - Chandon Winery & Catena Zapata Winery
Breakfast at the Hotel. We will meet two of the landmarks of the new wine making industry in Mendoza. First, we will go to the famous CHANDON WINERY: first branch of Moet & Chandon outside France, where Claude Moet founded “La Maison Moetl” in Epernay in 1743.
It has 1333 hectare of vineyards located on a high area of Mendoza river and Valle de Uco region. According to the height, these are good zones for growing Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot or Malbec varietals. In the region of Valle de Uco, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are grown. The group is formed by LVMH (Moet Hennessy - Louis Vuiton), which principal values are: Creativity and innovation, Quality and excellence,To keep the own firm with passionate determination.
To act as "entrepreneurs" and try to be the best. The sparkling wines and varietal wines made by Chandon winery show this philosophy. After the visit, we will taste wine and will be presented with a bottle of Chandon Champagne. Then we will have lunch at Don Mario Restaurant to enjoy a special meal with typical dishes.
We continue towards a winery with a Mayan piramid design: CATENA ZAPATA, which architectual concept, is a real tribute to the art and cience of making wines. Located in a privileged place, surrounded by vineyards of 20 years of age. Inside the winery, concentric spaces start from the crystal dome off the subsoil, there the circular cellar, with its 4000 oak barrels, surrounds the wine tasting room.
An important technological structure (and enologycal), sustains the entire making process, devoted only to the obtaining of great wines: Nicolás Catena Zapata, Catena Alta, Catena, Alamos. Going back to the hotel. Rest of the day off. |

Bodegas López, Estancia Ancon & Salentein Winery
Breakfast at the Hotel. We will leave the hotel with our luggage to continue visiting three outstanding wineries: Beginning in Maipú, in a traditional winery of Mendoza, run by its founding family: BODEGAS LOPEZ.
In the original building dating from 1898, the barrels of French oak stand out (with a capacity of up to 35,000 litres, where wines are matured). The most modern constructions have the newest equipment, so that the visitors can appreciate the history and constant evolution of the winery. Suggestive passages lead to the main cellar where harvests of 60 years rest. Special wine tasting.
We will begin a tour towards the southwest, part of the pedemonte desert, arriving at a very special winery: ESTANCIA ANCON, of French origin, located in Mendoza from 1760. The Bombal family is a pioneer in the wine making field. The first winery was built in 1914. Lucila Bombal re-built a “boutique” winery on the old one, focusing on making high-quality wines. There will be a wine tasting and a tour along the green gardens of the Chateau D'Ancon. We will continue towards the Quincho de Don Rómulo, place of the traditional gaucho from Mendoza and Valle de Uco region, in order to taste local dishes with wines included.
After lunch, we will visit LA CELIA Winery (with wine tasting included), an important winery from 1890, it produces high-quality wines and MONTEVIEJO Winery, one of “Le clos de los siete” group. It is an investment of seven French enologist that decide to make true their dream about having vineyards in Argentina.
Finally, SALENTEIN WINERY. It is located at more than 1200 meters over the sea level. It is surrounded by its farms: El Portillo, La Pampa and San Pablo literally located on the foot of the Andes Range. Salentein Winery was built on an hill and has a cross form. Each of its four cellars is a little winery with two different sections: the first, on the ground level, lodges the stainless steel tanks; the second one, under the ground, is used for raising wine in “bordalezas” (barrels) of oak.
The four wineries are joint in a central Greek theatre and share a modern division room. We will carry out visiting the winery with an enologist and then in the vineyards with an expert. Wine tasting in the tasting room. We will go to Posada Salentein in the vineyards. Inside the great frame of the Andes and the famous vineyards of Valle de Uco region, we find Salentein Inn, in the heart of the El Portillo, San Pablo and La Pampa farms.
A magical place to enjoy the hospitality of those who know how to be real hosts with local dishes and Salentein wines. We will be able to do different activities like trekking or riding bicycles and wine tasting visits carried out inside the winery.
Once we return, we will be able to find a warm fire place and a soft aroma of spices in the air. A place to live the birth of the wine from its beginnings. Dinner at Salentein Inn. |

Breakfast at the Hotel. Free morning to take a rest in the middle of this peaceful place, surrounded by the vineyards. Free time to enjoy the spa (sauna, massage, gym, swimming pool).

San Rafael
Breakfast at the Hotel. Visit to: VALENTIN BIANCHI CHAMPAŅA WINERY: It reflects the dreams of its founder Valentin Bianchi, and the dreams of three family generations. It was built in 1996 on a slope, (the winery and the cellar are totally underground).
Its delicate design contrasts to its huge production and storage capacity. Highly prepared for the reception of visitors, there is a wide tasting room, from which the gardens with its fountains, trees and vineyards can be appreciated. Visit and wine tasting. This winery is famous for its wines: Bianchi Chablis, Don Valentin Lacrado 1887, Valentin Bianchi D.O.C San Rafael.
We stop at the hotel to have lunch and then, in the afternoon, we will go to a familiar winery: RIVIER WINERY: Run by its owners, it produces limited quantities of wine, from its own grapes dealing with a concept between modern and handcraft methods.
The visit includes the different sectors of the winery: from the milling and fermentation rooms to the impeccable basement, where the wine fulfills its raising in barrels.
As well as in the tasting room, the hosts of this winery invite us to taste the different elaborated varieties. Among its wine, these are the ones that stand out: Jean Rivier Tocai Friulano, Assemblage Blanc, Tocai Friulano Barrica, Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva. Going back to the Hotel. |
